3. FIGURE 2 (CASE 1)
Mr. E. H. F., July 10, This chest film was made over three years following his right upper lobectomy for undifferentiated-cell carcinoma. A small bronchopleural cutaneous fistula is still present and a safety pin is on the outer extremity of the drainage tube. There is no evidence of recurrence of carcinoma and he continues well.

Mr. J. O. R., August 6, The arrows outline a large emphysematous cyst measuring about 10 cm. in its greatest diameter with a fluid level present in the cyst. In the center of the cyst is a smaller homogeneous density measuring about 2.5 cm. in diameter.

6. FIGURE 5 (CASE 2)
Mr. J. O. H., August 19, This is a postoperative film made approximately one month after right upper lobectomy. There is still some pleural thickening and a small amount of fluid over the apex of the lung which subsequently absorbed spontaneously. Pathologic examination of the specimen showed an undifferentiated-cell bronchogenic carcinoma within a pulmonary cyst. The cyst was considered congenital. He continues well with no evidence of recurrence of carcinoma.

Mr. W. R., August 1, A spherical, rather homogeneous mass is noted in the left upper lobe. A left upper lobectomy was subsequently performed and the tissue showed an undifferentiated-cell carcinoma of the lung.
