How to write your claim:
Use one complete sentence.
Use descriptive words.

Evidence is data used to support the claim. The evidence tells the audience the support you have collected that makes the claim convincing.

Include accurate evidence. This means your evidence is correct.
Include sufficient evidence. This means you have enough evidence.

12. Reasoning
The ShamWow! towel works so well because it contains microfibers. Microfiber towels are made from two synthetic (man made) materials, usually nylon and polyester. The fibers are treated with chemicals and mechanically changed to make them very small, smaller than 1/100th the diameter of a human hair. This gives the towel a lot of surface area to make contact with the spill and absorb the liquid. The tiny fibers get into small places where most towel fibers cannot reach.

Claim: Cell membranes are selectively permeable due to their structure Evidence: Some molecule enter and leave the cell via “gated” channel proteins embedded in the cell membrane. These transport proteins open and close in response to changes in the cellular environment. Reasoning (How does the evidence support the claims?) Gated channel proteins function as selective barriers, allowing cells to regulate the uptake of certain molecules while restricting the passage of others.
