1. Is Green the Only Color Leaf

2. Question
How does five different leaf’s affect the color of the leafs will change?

3. Materials 1 Strip of coffee filter paper. 1 metric ruler.
Rubbing alcohol
1 Strip of coffee filter paper.
1 metric ruler.
1 plastic glass.
5 different types of leafs.

4. Procedure 1.Pour about two centimeter of alcohol into plastic glass.
2.Scratch the leaf. Rub some of the green coloring onto the filter paper
About an inch from the bottom of the paper.
3.Wrap the strip of filter paper around a pencil or stick attach it with tape.
4.Lower the paper into the alcohol and rest the pencil on the side of plastic glass.
5.Be sure the rubbing alcohol does not touch the place on the filter where the leaf was rubbed if the filter paper is too long ,twist the pencil to keep the spot from the leaf rubbing out of the alcohol.
6.Watch the paper for 5 minutes and record any changes that occur record your observations about every 20 minutes until no more changes occur.

5. Problem
How does five different types of leafs affect the color green?

6. Hypothesis
As we pour the alcohol on the five different type of leafs. Then the color of the leafs will turn green because that’s the color that I see on the leaf. So I think the leaf will not change color and It will stay green.

7. Conclusion
We thought that if we poured alcohol on the five different types of leafs then the color of each leaf will change .Our results showed that my hypothesis was right the leafs did not change colors they all stayed “green”. My first leaf stayed green the second leaf turned a little brown . This supports our original hypothesis. Therefore if we were to do this procedure again then our hypothesis would be right again.

8. 0bservations The filter paper is starting to look like clouds.
The color is not changing.
There was no change in the color at all.
There was no change in the leafs ether.
