3 Clinical Nurse I (Novice)
New Graduate Nurses: Completes the RN Residency Program RN with 6 mos-2 yrs exp., or an RN who’s been out of acute care nursing for ≥ 5 yrs: Completes individualized orientation program Participates in mandatory in-services Attends 50% of dept. meetings reads minutes of meetings missed within 1 month of the meeting

4 Clinical Nurse II

5 Clinical Nurse II (Competent)
≥ 2 years nursing experience Score of ≥ 35 on the RN Career Ladder Competency Model Assists with orienting new employees and/or students. May be assigned as Preceptor or Charge Nurse. Attends 50% of dept. meetings reads minutes of meetings missed within 1 month of the meeting

6 Clinical Nurse III

7 Clinical Nurse III (Proficient)
≥ 5 years nursing experience Score of ≥ 50 on the RN Career Ladder Competency Model Obtains National Certification r/t specialty OR BSN Member of professional nursing organization 

8 Clinical Nurse III (Proficient)
Process: Recommended by Manager to promote from CN II to CN III Complete application and professional portfolio (accepted in October, January, April & July) Interview with Manager and Director If Approved: 5% increase in base rate (separate from merit raise)

9 Clinical Nurse III (Proficient)
Unit-based clinical resource or leader Routinely assigned as Preceptor or Charge Nurse AND evaluates CN I & CN II OR participates as instructor in ACLS, NRP etc. Attends 75% of dept. meetings reads minutes within 1 month of missed meeting

10 Clinical Nurse IV

11 Clinical Nurse IV (Expert)
≥ 7 years nursing experience Score of ≥ 65 on the RN Career Ladder Competency Model Maintains National Certification r/t specialty Participates in professional nursing organization 

12 Clinical Nurse IV(Expert)
Process: Recommended by Manager to promote from CN III to CN IV Complete application and professional portfolio (accepted in October, January, April & July) Interview with Manager and Director If Approved: 5% increase in base rate (separate from merit raise)
