From a long line of HMS scholars/faculty: Father & Paternal Grandfather Chiefs of MGH surgery Mother: Clara Lee Shattuck; he was the 6th Shattuck physician & Shattuck street is where HMS is located 1939 Harvard & 1943 HMS 1944 – 1946: Served in WWII as a physician 1946: MGH Psychiatry Resident under Dr. Stanley Cobb 1947: Queens Square Neurology & Maudsley Hospital for Psychiatry Queen Square-exposed to Dr. J. Goodwin Greenfield Neuropathology 1949: MGH Asstistant to Dr. Charles Kubik in Neuropathology 1951 – 1989: Neuropathology Lab Director Worked with Adams, Miller Fisher, Castlemen, & Victor Continued to work until a few months before his death from lymphoma 1984: Bullard Professor of Neuropathology
