1 Group Facilitator’s Report by Mike Wheeler
I’m wearing 2 hats today. Primarily that of Local Groups facilitator but also that of coordinator for the Winchester group and thats what keeps me in touch with reality....running a group and being involved with all the nitty gritty every day problems.

2 population matters population matters New initiatives in 2014/15
Bank accounts local groups now have them. Sailflags......all 10 groups have them. Tabards groups have them. So important to have a bank a/c as it means you can accept donations, raise money, buy equipment tables and display boards, pay pitch fees, display banners All groups have sailflags....look great on a march and tabards.

3 population matters New groups starting Cambridgeshire John Davies Scotland Andrew Macnaughton In the last 12months groups have started in

4 Running a car boot sale Looking at local group activiites Always get your banners out....it may only be for a few hours but let the public se them!!

5 7 quid a car.....not bad guv!! Easy money cars at £7 ...we banked nearly £200 and had a bacon sandwich.

6 2 marches in London Climate march last Sept with nearly 30 of us and another one in March. The banners look great...much better than a bit of cardboard on a stick!!

7 keep smiling It really was a good day out.

8 Mass lobby of Parliament, 17th June
Another good turnout with about 30 of us.

9 ...a stall in St. Alban’s market
This is a stall run by Helen Haran and the St.Albans group.

10 ....further north in Kendal
A stall in Kendal market to mark UN World Population Day

11 ....and a Veg Fest in Edinburgh
The Scottish group soon got stuck in with a stall at a Veg Fest so well done to Andrew Macnaughton

12 Green fair in Portsmouth
September in Portsmouth....more of the same. It was surprising how many people came up and said they agreed with us.

13 ....recruit them young That’s really good to have someone under 20 helping.

14 UN World Population Day
St Michael’s Covert in Winchester. We combine giving out leaflets with a bric a brac sale. Ten of our members turned out that day. Note the PM tabards and T-shirts.

15 King Alfred would be proud !!
This was a first. We had our banner displayed across Winchester High St. for the week after UN World Pop.Day. It cost £116 but thousands of people will have seen it. We’ve booked up already to do the same next year. BUT YOU COULDN’T DO IT WITHOUT A BANK A/C

16 Winchester University “Freshers’ Fayre”
Best event of the year. Talked to lots of students (many foreign) and gave out the condoms. Gave out the bookmarks in the pizza queue. Worth focussing on University students fayres.

17 population matters population matters Aims for the coming year?
more bank accounts more equipment for the groups wider range of activities more “Freshers’ Fayres” more talks more advertising more marches and rallies

18 Global Climate March November 29th
population matters Global Climate March November 29th LONDON ....and finally Hopefully we will have a good turnout for this march. If you haven’t been on one yet please give it a try. They really are lots of fun and you really get quite a buzz from being there.

19 let’s keep it going!!! population matters population matters
