2 Noodles Noodles originated in China over 4,000 years ago.
The earliest written record of noodles is found in a book dated to the Eastern Han period (25–220). Noodles along with rice are China’s staple food.

3 Early Mentions Noodles are also a staple food in North Vietname
The earliest mention of Noodles was in China but following that it was in Jerusalum and called Iltrium During the Song Dynasty noodle shops became very popular in China and noodle shops stayed open all night.

4 Lively activity in the markets did not begin to wane until about the evening meal of the day, while noodle shops remained open all day and night. People in the Song era were also more eager to purchase houses located near bustling markets than in earlier periods. In 2002, archaeologists found an earthenware bowl containing world's oldest known noodles, about 4000 years old, at the Lajia archaeological site of the Qijia culture along the Yellow River in China.

5 Noodles Directions Put noodles in 4 cups of salted boiling water. ...
Drain and dry. Heat oil in wok or frypan until smoking hot. Add ginger and onion stir for 30 seconds. Add noodles and fry for 5 minutes over med heat. Add sauce, and stir until coated. Serve hot or cold. Sometimes I add some julienned carrots or broccoli to this. Wheat noodles are more common in Northern China however Rice noodles are eaten in Southern China.

6 Noodles The ingredients in Shanghai fried noodles are beef, bok choy, and onion. It is a staple to Shanghai cuisine, but is also popular in other cities in China and throughout the world. It is a common dish in Chinatowns across the world, some of which offer the dish with chicken, pork, or vegetables instead of beef The earliest Chinese noodles, don't appear as strands of dough -- they were shaped into little bits, formed from bread dough, and thrown into a wok of boiling water. That kind of noodle, called mian pian, is still eaten in China. This was one of the most interesting pieces of research I came across -- that noodles in China actually began with its tradition of bread, something that is still widely eaten across northern China.

7 Pot Noodle Instant noodles were originally developed in by Momofuku Ando as Cup Noodle. Golden Wonder launched the Pot Noodle brand in the United Kingdom in 1977. The main ingredients used in dried noodles are wheat flour, palm oil, and salt. Common ingredients in the flavoring powder are salt, monosodium glutamate, seasoning, and sugar. The dried noodle block was originally created by flash frying cooked noodles, and this is still the main method used in Asian countries, but air- dried noodle blocks are favored in Western countries.
