1 New Year’s eve Italian traditions

2 When it comes to celebrate New Year’s Eve we have a lot of traditions and food to eat that have a specific meaning.

3 We usually spend New Year’s Eve with our family and friends, and have a huge meal that lasts hours until midnight

4 There are the unmissable lentils with the cotecchino (a large spiced sausage) that symbolize money and good luck for the coming year

5 Then we have the famous rivalry between Panettone and Pandoro
Then we have the famous rivalry between Panettone and Pandoro. Panettone is a type of sweet bread made with candied fruits. Pandoro is almost the same thing, with the exception of candied. Who’s gonna win?

6 Torrone is a traditional Christmas dessert—a sweet, toasted-almond candy—with many famous regional variations.

7 An old costum that is not still followed by everyone is throwing old things out of the windows (like dishes) or balcons to throw away the old year and welcome the New Year

8 And never forget to wear red underwear to bring luck in the coming year!

9 At the stroke of midnight don’t forget to drink sparkling wine and to see the huge firework show that will last a long time!
