2 Session Description This session identifies effective strategies to use performance evaluation teams in the principal supervision and evaluation process. As states and districts adopt new policies for the performance evaluation of educators, it is important to consider states and districts that have been trailblazers in this work. The state of Delaware recently improved the statewide performance appraisal system for principals including a technical assistance manual, a principal practice rubric, and a professional development model for training principal supervisors. Many times a single principal supervisor needs to depend on input from others to collect evidence on principal practices in order to provide meaningful feedback that leads to professional growth for the principal. Participants in this panel session will look at how the skills and expertise of a few central office administrators can be used to provide the most effective performance evaluation for a principal. This collaborative approach has been effective when managed appropriately
