* Legend has it that it existed near or even in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. * It is said that the lost continent of Atlantis was sunk around 355 B.C. by the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon. * He sunk Atlantis because the people became too corrupt and greedy.

* One of the few people with information about Atlantis was Plato. * Plato became very famous for all of the information he has provided about Atlantis.

4. More Background
Some say that Atlantis could have been in many places such as Crete, Greece, Azores, or even near the Pillars of Hercules (also known as the Strait of Gibraltar).

5. Science Fiction Theories
A scientist says he may have found remains of Atlantis. One theory is that Atlantis could have actually been in NW Europe or Ireland. There are many theories on Atlantis but most believe in Plato’s information. Some people believe that Atlantis was never even a real place and that it is or was just a phony.

6. Scientific Explanation
The most scientific explanation of where Atlantis was is off the coast of China or near the Bahamas. Cayce believed that Atlantis actually suffered 3 destructive events. The first destroyed their main power source. The second split the island into 3 separate entities. The third and last disaster caused all three islands to sink into the sea.

7. Your Reasoned Judgment
I believe that Atlantis DID once exist it may still even be somewhere in one of the oceans for all we know. I believe this because people claim to have seen it, find pieces of it or even know all the places it could possibly be.
