8. Parent Meeting Costumes All Beaux need the following:
Sleeveless, black, crew neck “under armor” type shirt to be worn under their outfit and as part of their closer costume.
Should fit snuggly on the body – not loose like a normal t-shirt
Black belt/sliver buckle
Black socks that fit over the calf
All Belles/Femmes need the following:
Good undergarments
Body Shaper
Clear bra straps
Caboodle to keep makeup, brushes, toiletries organized

9. Parent Meeting Costumes
Boys should wear grey compression shorts - no boxers
All boy’s hair must be cut above the eyes or slicked back away from the face.
No facial hair
Girl’s will wear hair in a high, straight, pony tail with a small bump.

Black, short boot - $35
Worn with closer dress.
Can be worn for regular use after the season is over.
All Character Shoes purchases – New and Veterans
Price went up from original cost estimate
Originally charged student $85 per pair
True cost is $101 – includes shoe, stops and braces
Will need to charge your child’s account $16 to cover cost

13. Parent Meeting DeKalb HS Overnight Trip February 10-12, 2017
Leave 4:30 pm on Friday, February 10
Take charter busses – many thanks to Choral Boosters!!
Saturday, February 11 spent at competition
Return Sunday, February 12 early afternoon

14. Parent Meeting DeKalb HS Overnight Trip
Need chaperones to ride bus and stay in hotel with choir members.
Full hot breakfast every morning
Your child will need money for the following meals:
Friday dinner (fast food most probably)
Saturday lunch and dinner – at competition site .

16. Parent Meeting How A Competition Works
Arrive in the morning to assigned homeroom used for changing, etc.
If time, watch other groups before performance
Begin dressing, fixing hair, applying makeup, etc.
Perform in prelims
Cross fingers to make finals
All begins again for finals performance
Awards given usually at about midnight!

18. Parent Meeting What parents can do during competition performances:
Wear polo shirt, school colors or spirit wear
Wear glow in the dark star or ?
Whoop and holler during dance breaks
Take the “High Road” when hearing parents talk about how much greater their child’s group is than the one currently performing (our group)!
Enjoy the tremendous energy only teenagers can exude! It is infectious!

19. Parent Meeting Parent Help Opportunities
Dads are needed to help load and unload the equipment truck both at school and competition site. Also help load equipment onto the stage before show begins and help take equipment off after show ends.
Moms are needed to hang out in the homerooms to help with hair, makeup, clothing, emergency costume repair, hugs, and general support and supervision
Chaperones are needed to ride busses to competitions and help monitor rooms during our overnight trip

20. Parent Meeting Parent Help Opportunities
ISSMA State Vocal Jazz and Show Choir Finals
March 17th and 18th.
This is the major fundraiser for Choral Boosters to pay for our season needs such as Show Band Staff stipends, set and prop needs, Charter busses, etc..
ALL Singer/Dancer parents are required to help in some way either of the two days.
(Of course, you may help in more than one area or work both days!)

21. Parent Meeting Chaperone Needs Ride busses to and from competitions
Help monitor students in the hotel on overnight trips
Help “herd” students to their rooms at predetermined time
Monitor 1-3 rooms ½ hour after lights out
Make sure students are on the bus at the predetermined time
Make sure students have cleaned up their hotel room and have collected all personal belongings before departure on Sunday

23. Parent Meeting Expanded Criminal History Check Requirement
“….to ensure safety for all students and volunteers, an Expanded Criminal History Check is necessary. If at any time, there is a volunteer/s who would be in a room alone with any student/s (for example; costume volunteers) at any time, or working back stage on a regular basis during practices and competitions, then he/she needs to have an Expanded Criminal History Check on file.  This would include TLAR.  In addition, volunteers chaperoning on the bus and on overnight trips need the Expanded Criminal History Check.”

If you are in contact with kids in ANY way throughout the school year in ANY capacity in ANY area – athletics, band, choir, chaperoning on field trips for other classes, etc.
Once you have signed up and are cleared, you are good for the rest of your child’s school career.

TLAR dads and other dad volunteers who help throughout the season
Costume moms, homeroom helpers throughout the season
Chaperones for any choral activity
You stay in our hotel, you are considered a chaperone and must have this done.
