A JOINT INNOVATION A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN LIGHTHOUSE SOCIAL ENTERPRISE AND G-LINK VIETNAM

2 Vietnam context Identified Problems
HIV new infection among MSM is 7%, while HIV prevalance among MSM is 8.2% and TG is17% MSM and TG people face stigma, discrimination and violence in healthcare setting. (BTG2-Assessment). Existing projects, programs do not focus on address stigma and discrimination in healthcare setting. Identified Problems Key stakeholders are not aware of the severity S&D S&D are a major barrier in accessing health and HIV service. Healthcare providers lack knowledge and information. The MSM and TG communities lack of awareness on self protection and actively seek healthcare service. Guideline or good practice models are not in place.

3 Pilot activities In 2016, Lighthouse and G-link worked in partnership with MSMGF under Bridging the Gap 2.0 to: Design and implement an assessment on stigma and discrimination faced by MSM and TG in healthcare settings. Develop a guideline named “Friendly and supportive service delivery for MSM and TG community” Organize a Training of trainers on how to work with healthcare providers

4 Innovation goals Goal 1: Sensitize healthcare providers, local health authorities and relevant stakeholders. Conduct surveys to collect ideas of key stakeholders. Goal II: Sensitizing healthcare providers and build a friendly health facility model which can be expanded to other areas. Introduce the completed toolkit to key stakeholders and community. Pre and post training assessment Establish a network among health facilities as well as between health facilities and CBOs. Goal III: Raise the awareness of KPs on health self-protection and active seeking health services, especially HIV-related services. Build an app where KPs can easily & discreetly find information on HIV, STIs and health facilities that they need. Key stakeholders = health facilities, CBOs, local authorities, relevant departments, existing project, NGOs) Sensitize healthcare providers, local health authorities and relevant stakeholders on who MSM and TG and their needs, as well as and the impact and health outcomes of providing adequate services to them. Build an app that provides general information on HIV, STIs and a list of health facilities that have made positive changes (no stigma & discrimination). Facilitate the transfer of services between health facilities as well as allow health facilities and CBOs to continue working together to improve services’ quality.
