6 Acts and laws Public Law was passed in 1975 to ensure every disability or handicapped student would receive a equal education, Education for All Handicapped Children Act (EAHCA) Title IX states that no person, on the basis of sex, shall be denied benefits or be discriminated on under an educational program or activity receiving federal financial assistance Section 504 of the rehabilitation act of 1973 states that American legislation guarantees rights to any student with disabilities FERPA- Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act which states all educational institutions that receive federal funding do not give out personally identifiable information of any student
