4 Origin The word homonym has its origin in the Greek word ‘homonomus’ which means having the same name.

5 Meaning When we use a word in different ways and different senses, it is called a homonym. E.g.: I am reading a Plea.. Please a seat for me. I saw a big I in the forest. I can’t such insolent behavior.

6 CAN: Please fill a can of water from the tap I can lift this can without any difficulty. Jam: He was caught in a traffic jam. I like jam sandwiches.
