Severe Thunderstorm competency assessments Fire Weather Competency Assessments Tropical Cyclone Competency Assessments Tsunami Competency Assessments Marine Competency Assessments Forecast systems training (GFE, Radar, VW)

Key Responsibilities Maintain nationally unique physical library collection Provide research support services Maintain digital collections and catalogues

7 BMTC Development Introduction to Meteorology course (2 days – face to face) Delivered to 100 external and 50 internal students in 2016/17 Expanding to meet external demand Develop online modules in support of BIP-M to Grad Dip pathway Piloting Introduction to Climate course in November (1 day – face to face) Then expand to external students in 2018. Investigating Graduate Certificate in Oceanography In support of key customer (Navy). Developing online courses for observing weather Aiming at external market

8 BMTC also… Supports other Groups with learning resource design and construction. Maintains extensive library of learning resources that supports all modes of delivery. Maintains and updates qualification and training records in EBS. Collaborates with other Groups to deliver training and assessment outcomes

Initial Meteorology Course transformation: Development of advanced modules Support of Observation Strategy: Enabling transition of obs staff to Hubs through training Introduction to Meteorology Course Expand to 18 courses in 2018 to meet growing demand

Introduction to Climate course: 1 day course, delivered in regions, similar model to I2M. Pilot in November Hosting CALMET  in August 2017 Approximately 60 educators from around the world. Library Digitization of old Bureau publications Increasing discoverability of Bureau research (Mendeley)
