S&EDPS consultants— local qualified Microsoft Partners or Microsoft Consultants—can help customers understand the value and best practices of implementing a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 solution in their environment, either on premise or in the cloud. The number of S&EDPS engagement days varies from 3 to 10 – as determined by their Software Assurance coverage and available days. Value Proposition Customers can use S&EDPS to help cover the cost of services that will help them understand why and how to implement Exchange Server or Skype for Business Server Depending on the number of days the customer qualifies for, and the services they are interested in receiving, the S&EDPS engagement may include a variety of services. The number of days provided by the Partner (or Microsoft Services) and the results of the S&EDPS engagement vary based customer organization size, number of users, complexity of environment, number of days included in the engagement and the agreed customer-partner scope of work. Deliverables may vary based on the Microsoft Partner’s solutions framework. Based on the number of days the deployment planning engagement lasts, the technology-specific benefits to the customer at the end of an engagement may include the following: Understanding basic new functionality provided by Skype for Business Server 2015 The opportunity to leverage a Lync expert for their deployment planning activities and questions Understanding of architectural and operational aspects of Skype for Business Server 2015 Next steps to continue their Skype for Business Server 2015 planning efforts Discuss only the information relevant to this delivery.
