3 Examples of when you would use this are ________

2 FAST SHUTTER (Freeze Movement)

3 SLOW SHUTTER (Blur Movement)

4 PANNING (object focused, background blurry)

5 Steps… Turn ON camera Change the MODE DIAL to “S” for Shutter Priority
What does this mean?

6 FAST SHUTTER Set Shutter to 1/500 Check your ISO
HOW DO YOU DO THIS??? Check your ISO Check to make sure your flash is OFF Go by a LIGHT SOURCE Count to 3 and have your partner jump

7 AGH! Your picture is too dark! What do you do??

8 TOO DARK, so… Let MORE light into the camera
Slow down your shutter (move towards 1 sec) Try 1/250, then 1/125, then 1/60 sec

9 SLOW SHUTTER Set Shutter to 2”, 1” or 1/2 Check your ISO
HOW DO YOU DO THIS??? Check your ISO Check to make sure your flash is OFF It’s ok to be in a darker area for this Have your partner start spinning or moving

10 AGH! Your picture is too light! What do you do??

11 TOO LIGHT, so… Let LESS light into the camera (or go into a darker area) Speed up your shutter (move towards 1/1000 sec) Try ¼, then 1/8, then 1/15 sec

12 Panning Set shutter to 1/30 Find a moving subject to photograph
HOW DO YOU DO THIS?? Find a moving subject to photograph Click and follow the subject as you are photographing them

13 If the picture is too BLURRED…
Change your shutter to 1/60

14 If panning picture is too FOCUSED…
Change your shutter to 1/15
