6 What are the Two Ways to Go Through Room Selection?
Squat Your Room Go through Room Selection To “squat” a room – to choose to live in your current residential space for the upcoming school year. All students are allowed to squat their rooms, unless you currently live in an ADA room and do not require ADA accommodations or you live in an RA room. (All students unable to Squat their room will be notified by Residence Life via qmail on Wed., March 23rd by 10pm.) Both Roommates or All Four Suitemates must agree to squat in order to do so. “Squatting Request Forms” will be available via Rexmail, Rex Text and on Facebook. Squatter Forms are due to Sarrin Warfield in Morrison 218 by 5pm on Tuesday, April 3 Rooms not squatted, housing ADA students, or housing RA’s will be available for selection. If you choose not to “Squat” your room and choose to go through Room Selection you can choose to live in Barnhardt, Belk, Hayes, West, Wireman and South. North is only available to students with Junior or Senior Class Status Single and Apartment Room Selection will take place at the same time as regular Room Selection. If you do not have a roommate and are not selecting a single you will be housed at the end of the lottery.

7 Junior and Senior Incentives 2012-2013
Incentives to rising seniors living in on-campus housing for : Option for a reduced meal plan: A 5 meal per week meal plan will be available to seniors living anywhere on the main campus (South, Wireman, Hayes, Barnhardt, Albright, HBO, or Belk).  Main campus seniors are required to have a meal plan, with the option of a 5 meal per week meal plan (or the traditional 14, 19, and unlimited – it is entirely your choice).   North residents will also have this as an option but because North has kitchens and it is apartment style living they are NOT required to have a meal plan, but the 5, 14, 19, and unlimited plan is still available to all North residents at the same price as other residential students. The 5 meal plan option has additional Lion Dollars in (in response to requests from North residents this past year) and this improvement is available to all seniors and North residents. Assigned senior parking space:  Main campus senior residents with vehicles will have a personal, assigned parking space within the Senior Parking Area of the new parking deck.   Thus, a senior living in any building on the main campus with assigned parking space #34, for example, has that space all year long and nobody else may use that space.  It is your parking space throughout your senior year (not just a parking area, but an actual assigned space!).  North residents with vehicles are able to park in both North lot and the new parking deck on the main campus. With the expansion of our parking options you will not have any struggles finding space on campus.

8 Junior and Senior Incentives 2012-2013
Financial and iPad incentive for juniors and seniors living in South Hall for : Residential price reduction: Juniors and seniors living in South Hall next year will be given a one-time financial incentive for doing so.  Juniors and seniors living in a double in South will receive a $500 residential price reduction and those living in a single will receive a $1,000 price reduction. This price reduction will reduce the cost of the new “super suite” hall to the same price as a regular suite in Wireman or Hayes. iPad option: Juniors and seniors living in South Hall will also receive their very own iPad from the University.  This iPad is yours to keep and comes at no expense to you personally.  If you already have an iPad, or for some strange reason do not want one, you may exchange this gift for an additional $500 residential scholarship further reducing the price of the South “super suite” style to that of a corridor style living (i.e. same price as Belk, Albright, etc.). One obvious question we have already been asked is, “Can sophomore students live in South?”  The answer is yes.  Unlike North, which is exclusive to juniors and seniors, sophomores may reside in South Hall.  However, they will not receive the incentives discussed above.  We are also considering capping the percent of sophomores in South at 20% so it gives juniors and seniors the best opportunity, while still allowing you to potentially live with a rising sophomore friend
