1 Status Report of Time and Frequency Laboratory, NML-SIRIM, Malaysia
Time and Frequency Group Dr. Mohd. Nasir Ahmad Sahar Mohd Rafiq

2 Malaysian National Frequency Standards
There are no significant changes on the Malaysian National Frequency Standard and the Time Transfer System. NML-SIRIM Time and Frequency Laboratory maintains two high performance Caesium (Cs) atomic and one of the high performance Cs reference frequency standards is designated as the Malaysian National Frequency Standard (MNFS). With these standards and continuous All-in-View GPS time comparisons, the data is contributed to the BIPM. We also participating in the pilot experiment organized by BIPM for producing a rapid UTC (UTCr). For further improvement, priority will be given in reducing the Type-B uncertainty in the Circular-T.

3 Looking Forward on Reducing the Type A and Type B Uncertainty of NMLS on Circular-T

4 Technical Peer Review Date of Review: October 2011 Peer Reviewer : Dr. Huang-Tien LIN. National Time and Frequency Standard Laboratory Telecommunication Laboratories, Taiwan Status : All of the issues which were identified during the review have been satisfactory addressed. Looking forward to upload the CMC to JCRB

5 A New Calibration Method of Timing Devices
with Display Continuing for improving the stopwatch calibration method using a calibrator which is listed in the BIPM CMC table since , NML-SIRIM has introduced a new method using in-house developed measuring instrument to overcome a few shortcomings such as dismantling of the casing of the device under test and the limitation of only for digital stopwatches calibration. This method has been validated via Proficiency Test or ILC with National Measurement Institute of Netherlands (VSL). All results are satisfactory. (En is less than 1) The measurement uncertainty is ± (0.001 s /sampling time).

6 Rotation per Minute (RPM) Calibration System Project
The objective of this project is to design and develop an in-house calibration facility for contact and non-contact tachometer, which is directly traceable to Malaysian National Frequency Standard. Under fabrication and expected to be completed in December,, 2012 The capability of calibration range is expected to be 20,000 rpm

7 Looking forward for the establishment of GPS speedometer calibration facility
By speed simulation On field speed calibration of the actual moving vehicle

8 Time Source Master Clock for Time Stamping Services
Business arrangement with local bank. Developing of Trusted Time Services business model.
