3 Nobel 808 One of the simplest plastic explosives was Nobel 808, invented by Alfred Nobel and developed by the British company Nobel Chemicals Ltd. “808”, as it was commonly referred to as, was used mainly in WWII. It was extensively used by the British Special Operations Executive for sabotage missions.

5 C-4 C-4 is a plastic explosive used today by both military and terrorists. It needs some energy to detonate and since shooting won’t work and it burns like wood, a blasting cap is normally used to set it off.
