What’s the problem? Colleges have difficulty obtaining current data on the local workforce Students don’t have reliable data on current jobs, salaries, and demand Current LMI doesn’t answer the most pressing questions Current LMI doesn’t help companies seeking to relocate or expand to Dallas

How Does It Help? Faculty/staff will receive specific data on occupations, industries, placement, and wages Research based on reliable data to assist with program planning. What programs at my college need to expand, be eliminated, etc? Gap analysis. How are my college’s programs performing and aligning with what Dallas business needs? How many openings vs. what are we producing? Confidence in advising students on hot jobs, wages, and placement data

Integration of GIS Into LMI
Can provide infographics on what’s going on in the economy What jobs are available in my neighborhood? Integrate DCCCD student data, college info, real-time LMI, and programmatic success with GIS mapping software

LMI for Business and ED Work with local ED agencies to provide real-time and future workforce trends Assist colleges with data for business and to target relevant programs for industry needs Enhance business intelligence capabilities. “What if” scenarios Provide quarterly reports to the public on the state of the Dallas workforce

Why is it important for my college?
Students will quickly see wages, demand, and skills required. No “death by spreadsheet” Non-consumers will learn quickly how much will I make, where can I get it, and how long will it take me Faculty/staff can see demand for the job (real time LMI), where are my former students going to work, and what are they earning. Intricate mapping software will provide vivid infographics

Our Commitment DCCCD will be the “go to” source for relevant, dynamic LMI that will allow our colleges to make data-driven decisions LMI will provide critical data for decision-makers for their careers and businesses The data will help enhance quality of life for the residents of Dallas
