11 Exercise: Facilities layout Consider the following scenario:
You are deployed to support the Philippines NDMO and an Emergency Hub is to be installed near Cebu airport. A field has been made available and you have to plan the site. The site is not secured and accesses paths should be defined and arranged. You have to be able to store 2400 MT of food at anytime An outside storage area of 160 sqm has to be prepared for iron sheeting and other shelter material The Hub will host a team made of 2 logistics officers, two store keepers and one air-ops manager will be roving between the Hub and the airport. There is no electricity on site so will have to also plan for the needed structures and equipment. The Hub will not run at night but We are getting close to the rainy season. Heavy rain falls are forecasted for the next 2 months.

12 Exercise: Site Layout

13 Exercise: Site Layout 50 m 90 m 20 m 40 m

14 10 minutes to present/discuss
Exercise: Site Layout . Exercise: Calculate the number of MSU needed and determine what other equipment and material is required to operate the Emergency Hub. On a sketched plan, respecting the dimensions given for the field, indicate locations of access roads, MSUs (2400 MT capacity), generators, latrines, drainage, security lights and fencing. 20 minutes to prepare 10 minutes to present/discuss
