Torque By: David Olinger Zach Greene

Definition Every time you open a door, turn on water, or tighten a nut with a wrench, you exert a turning force, or torque.

Example: Force Lever Arm Torque = Perpendicular Force x Lever Arm

Breakdown: Toque is produced when you create “leverage”
The shorter the lever arm the less torque produced. The longer the lever arm the more torque produced. Depending on the force applied the greater or lesser the force the greater or lesser the torque put out.

Real Life Example: The doorknob on this door is placed at the center. What do physics types say about the practicality of this?
