PBS There are points given each day for your Child’s Agenda, Green Homework Folder, and Dress Code. Please sign your Child’s Agenda every evening! By now each of you have had the opportunity to order the new school uniform shirts. The Dress Code is navy blue or hunter green top and denim or khaki bottom. Please look at the school site for more details about the Dress Code. Stay Tuned to hear more about the Spirit Sticks your students will be receiving soon! Title One The Goal of Title I is to improve student achievement through; Effective classroom instruction, parent involvement, and professional development. Parent Involvement means the participation of parents in regular, two-way meaningful communication involving student academic learning and other school activities. Parents have the right to know: ·The professional qualifications of the student’s teachers and paraprofessionals. ·If their child has been assigned to or taught for 4+weeks by a teacher who is not highly qualified. ·The level of achievement of their child on state academic assessments. ·Description of the school’s curriculum and information about the academic assessments and proficiency standards. ·School and district parent involvement policies and plans and summaries. ·Specific information about the schools Title I program and opportunities to become involved in their child’s education. ·School-parent compact. The compact must be referenced with elementary aged students during a parent conference. We are incredibly excited to begin the 2016/2017 school year here at Garner! This promises to be a year filled with golden opportunities for all of our students as we strive to find ways that we can be even better than we have before!  We embark on this journey with a pledge to teachers, our students and parents, and community that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful and rigorous work in our classrooms, combined with special events and a plethora of extracurricular activities and musical performances to encourage our Tigers to be involved and stay connected!
