Effective May 1st: UnitedHealthcare and Care Improvement Plus (CIP), an affiliate of UnitedHealthcare, are integrating Medicare Advantage care provider networks to simplify and enhance administrative operations. CIP features open-access preferred provider organization chronic special needs, dual eligible special needs and Medicare Advantage prescription drug plans. 
For providers who are contracted with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions: CIP will become a Medicare Advantage plan administered under the terms of UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions provider agreements effective May 1, This includes care providers who have contracts with both CIP and UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions but may have contracted differently with each health plan. For such dual-contracted care providers, your CIP contract will end. 
For providers who are contracted only with CIP: If you are contracted only with CIP and not with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions, you will continue to be a CIP network care provider under the terms of your CIP participation agreement.
