Brave New World Notes Events that Inspired the Story… Eugenics Movement: philosophy that argued that the human race could be improved through more production of people with desired traits and less production of people with undesired traits. This philosophy led to the extermination of Jews during WWII and the quest to develop a “master race.”

Part of what makes this book so controversial is the very thing that makes it so timeless – humans want to believe that technology has the power to cure all, but Huxley shows the dangers of it.
