1 ALPHARETTA RECREATION & PARKS DEPARTMENT
WINTER TEEN LEAGUE BASKETBALL MANAGER’S PACKET

2 General League Information
Games are scheduled in 1 hour increments. A regulation game is two 20 minute halves. The clock will only stop during the final two minutes of each half If overtime is needed, overtime is 2 minutes, of which the clock will stop on all whistles Home team determined by league schedule. Each team will have the same amount of games as visitor and home. A 10 minute grace period for 6:00 games only. Up to 10 minutes will be taken off the game time

3 Playing Line-up Line-ups will be on the scoresheets.
Players not appearing or not legal on the roster will not be on the line-up. Make sure YOU have them legal. Prior to starting the game, PLAYER manager should check the following: Names are spelled correctly All players jersey numbers are correct for that game Absent players are crossed out New players are added if legally added to roster first NEW -- If a player shows up wearing a different number than listed, staff will require ID before that player takes part in the game. Scoring stats will be kept with time permitting, it’s purely a novelty

4 Playing Line-up/Roster
A minimum of 4 players is needed to start and play a game. If your team drops to 3 players, the game will end via forfeit. Make sure your players are all signed onto and accounted for on your roster. Rosters are final after the 4th played game. Only players that are 18 years old can sign themselves onto a roster. If your players are under 18, a parent needs to sign them onto the roster. Illegal players participating will result in YOU (the player manager) being suspended a game. Game with illegal players will also be a forfeit. All participants are allowed on ONLY ONE team.

5 Team Conduct/Bench There must be at least ONE parent (of a player) on your team (Adult Manager preferably) present for your team to play. This includes any warm-up time. No parent present will result in a forfeit. Parent must be for a player on YOUR OWN TEAM. There may only be a total of THREE non-players on your bench. Injured players on your roster do not count towards the three. ONLY ONE team manager may be standing during the game. All others must be seated. All players on the bench must be seated at all times, unless they are going to the table to check in. All players coming to check in must kneel in front of the table, so the scorekeeper knows they are going in. All players are required to wear the current league issued jersey.

6 QUESTIONS? If you have any questions or concerns regarding illegal players, line-ups and/or uniforms, involving your own team or your opponent, INFORM THE SCOREKEEPERS/STAFF IMMEDIATELY. If you wait until after the game, we can do nothing to resolve any issues. Do not ask the OFFICIALS, they are there to manage the game on the court.

7 Awards Regular season champion will receive a team trophy and T-shirts
The regular season is tougher to win than the tournament Runner-up will receive a team plaque Tournament champions and runner-ups will receive team plaques. Tournament winners MAY also receive shirts

8 Post-season Play The top 6 teams in each division are eligible for postseason play Postseason is played time/weather permitting Yes, we have had games ‘iced’ out Tournaments are single elimination Tournament games are not exempt from ‘mercy rule’ Overtimes will be played in two minute increments until a winner is declared.

9 Player Conduct Managers, make sure your players and spectators know the rules! Do not argue with the officials. If a player is ejected from a game, they must exit the building within 90 seconds. If a player is ejected, the player is suspended from playing the next week his/her team plays a game If a player is ejected in the final game of a season, they will serve their suspension in the next season they play for that team or any team.
