Nephrin mutants enhance ATF6‐luciferase reporter activity. 293T cells (A) or GECs (B) were cotransfected with nephrin WT or nephrin mutants, an ATF6 firefly luciferase reporter plasmid, and renilla luciferase (marker of transfection efficiency).
Nephrin mutants enhance ATF6‐luciferase reporter activity. 293T cells (A) or GECs (B) were cotransfected with nephrin WT or nephrin mutants, an ATF6 firefly luciferase reporter plasmid, and renilla luciferase (marker of transfection efficiency). Lysates were assayed for luciferase activity after 48 h. Normalized luciferase activity is presented in arbitrary units. A significant increase in ATF6 luciferase activity was induced by several nephrin mutants. (A) *P < 0.05,**P < versus WT, N = 3; B: **P < versus WT, N = 5. The effect of tunicamycin (Tm) in untransfected (Untransf) cells and empty vector transfections are presented for comparison.
