1 On the Ground Muon Ionisation Cooling Experiment ( MICE ) – pre-cursor to a neutrino factory

2 On the Ground AFC Module for MICE – being produced with Oxford University for the MICE experiment This is a superconducting magnet with a 20litre liquid hydrogen absorber in the centre

3 MICE Muon Ionisation Cooling Experiment – hydrogen system
Condenser LH2 dummy absorber Level sensors Cryocooler SRDK-415 1.5 35/45 Radiation shield Hydrogen inlet and outlet He inlet and outlet Cu bottom plate with heat exchanger Mice has three 20litre liquid hydrogen absorbers at below 20K We are providing the storage and delivery system The R&D phase will use a test cryostat to store the hydrogen until required. The control and operation is quite complex

4 MICE Muon Ionisation Cooling Experiment – decay solenoid
Working on integration and refurbishment activities including the installation of the cryogenic plant and control system Parameters: Central field 5T Open inner Radius 60mm Coil inner Radius 65mm Coil length 8m Stored Energy 1.5MJ Max. Current 1000A Cu:NbTi ratio 3.5 Current density 220 Amm-2

5 Undulators Helical Undulators
Working on planar undulators for synchrotron sources

6 Undulators 4m long prototype in manufacture made in 2 x 2m sections
