Revolutionary ideas were spread throughout Europe ---Abolishing the role of a Monarchy ---Removing the privileged status of Nobility and Clergy Nationalism spread throughout Europe ---Unity between German speaking states --- Spanish and Austrian resistance leads to a stronger sense of National pride

3 Spread of Revolutionary ideas in Latin America and Mexico.
---Declaration of Rights of Man promoted an end to slavery and serfdom in French colonies ---Napoleonic Wars prevented French military assistance in putting down rebellions in Latin America

4 Legacy of Napoleon—Napoleons Code
---Centralized authority in Government with a Constitution ---Expanded Suffrage(the right to vote to all adult male citizens Napoleons Code became the basis of the Legal system in all French territories during the Napoleonic wars. Many of those territories kept the Code as the basis of Law after French occupation ended.

5 Abolition of the Holy Roman Empire
---Helped to create German unity fueled by Nationalism ---Both pro German Nationalism within German speaking states and Anti-French Nationalism among French occupied states

6 Louisiana Purchase—Doubled the size of the United States.
---Napoleon acquired the Louisiana territory after defeating the Spanish ---Napoleon knew he could not afford to protect it and needed money for his wars

Belgium and Luxemburg added to Holland to create the Netherlands Prussia given land along the Rhine River Northern Italy is given to Austria All territories were redrawn without any concern for National Cultures
