There are approximately 40 million used vehicle transactions in North America every year. This number can fluctuate based on a few factors, including: new car sales, inventory availability, interest rates and the general economy.
As you can see, our industry remains a big part of the overall process. ADESA is part of the teal box—9 million vehicles annually. Insurance Auto Auctions is part of the red box—3-4 million salvage vehicles annually. And AFC provides financing for customers at both ADESA and IAA. So, our industry touches roughly 25 percent of the used vehicle transactions on an annual basis.
