Temple built to honor the goddess Athena, the goddess of wisdom. A giant statue of the goddess was placed inside the temple. Doric temple made of a special marble that changes color with the time of day .

Greek vases used as prizes for the Olympic games. Orange because of the clay. Painted with black figures representing the race for which the prize was won.

9. Greek Sculptures
Contraposto- Italian for “weight shift” sculptural technique where the body is positioned in a “s” curve. The weight of the legs are balanced causing the figure to look more relaxed.
Canon- a set of guidelines developed by the Greeks to help sculptors sculpt the body accurately.
