3 Introduction: Obesity in Saudi Arabia has reached a very high epidemic proportions, creating the first generation which is predicted to have a shorter lifespan than the previous generations. Unless there is a broad cultural and behavioral change among Saudis, regarding diet and exercise, obesity rates will most likely continue to rise

4 Obesity: obesity is defined as having excess body fat
a person must weigh higher than what is thought to be healthy for his or her average height With the help of Body Mas Index (BMI) formula, a person can check for his/her obesity rate in relation to the height.

5 How common is it? According to statistics studied on the Saudi population, on average 29% of all adult males are obese, and 37% of all adult females are proven to be obese as demonstrated in the figures (Murphy, 2010).

7 Causes and associated factors:
1- lack of physical activity within the Saudi community. The idea of gaining excessive body fat is simple. It happens when the calories consumed are greater than calories used. 2- Unhealthy Saudi Arabian eating habits traditional food such as Jaresh, Kabsa, and Halwa are full of fats that are eaten on a daily basis in almost every household. 3- The Saudi lifestyle Weddings and night life in Ramadan.
