Species: Three Bullheads Three Catfish Rest are Madtoms All catfish are scaleless, with tough smooth skin All have 8 appendages on their head called barbels Poison glands at base of spines

4 Stone Catfish Scientific Name: Noturus Flavus
Size: 12” long, Avg. 6”-8” Description: Back: yellow olive to slate-gray or blue-gray Sides: lighter w/ yellow or pink tints Under: yellow or white Tail: is rounded or square w/ light border Adipose Fin: completely bound to body Chin Barbels: white Dorsal Fin: Light-yellow or whitish oval shaped spot on rear portion of fin

Upper jaw larger then lower jaw Different: adipose fin completely bound to body which distinguishes it from the madtom

Size: Wt: Up to 15 lb Lt: 30” long Description: Tail: deeply forked, lobes sharply pointed Anal: rays Fleshy Adipose: separate from the tail Dorsal & Pectoral: on spine Barbels: black and long Back: blue-gray to slate-gray or bluish olive Sides: silvery-gray, belly: whitish

Males: are darker, almost blue-black, during spawning Different: Only fish w/ irregular spots on sides and back

10 White Catfish Scientific Name: Ameiurus Catus Size: maximum of 24”
Description: Back & Upper sides: light blue-gray to slate-gray Belly: silvery or yellow white Barbels: white Caudal Fin: forked Head: broad Pectoral Fin: sawthoothed back egde Anal Fin: 25 or fewer rays

11 White Cont. Different: Caudal fin forked but fin lobes are not sharply pointed like those of a channel
