But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." 60 Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God." 61 And another also said, "Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house." 62 But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." 3 Counting the Cost of Following Christ
I. When To Count

4 Must Count Cost Before Follow
Christ taught each one the priority of service (Luke 9:57-62) Had readiness to follow, but not first priority Unworthy if other things hinder following Divine service always comes first (Matt. 6:33) Prov. 3:9 Deut. 26:1-11 Counting the cost first is fundamental to obey Includes many factors for us to consider...

5 “…first sit down and count the cost…”
Luke 14:26-33 26 If any man cometh unto me, and hateth not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 Whosoever doth not bear his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doth not first sit down and count the cost, whether he have wherewith to complete it? 29 Lest haply, when he hath laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all that behold begin to mock him, 30 saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 31 Or what king, as he goeth to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and asketh conditions of peace. 33 So therefore whosoever he be of you that renounceth not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. “…first sit down and count the cost…” Man Building A Tower King Going To War
