Our clients include more than 60% of the Fortune® Today we have more than 190,000 customers in 120 countries. From a scope perspective, we have 8 DC’s serving our WW customer base and a broad portfolio of Cloud offerings….which is very important as it allows customers to mix and match our infrastructure to best suite the needs of their application. It drives flexibility. One of the achievements that we are most proud of is that Rackspace Hosting has been recognized by Fortune as one of the 100 best places to work not only in the United States, but in EMEA as well. People really like working here. What that means to customers is that we have a growing, stable workforce that is carefully selected not only for technical skills but also for how much each employee enjoys delivering exceptional service, and how well they match our culture and core values. As a founding member of the OpenStack community, we are committed to leveraging open technologies such as OpenStack to minimize technology lock-in and maximize flexibility. It means that we want to give our customers the choice to run their applications on infrastructure best suited to their particular application/workload. finally, Rackspace is the leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Managed Hosting….which really is a testament to our broad portfolio and the service we provide branded as Fanatical Support

14 To be recognized as one of the world’s great service companies.
1515 If you’ve seen a Rackspace presentation before, you likely have seen a statement such as this talking about great customer service. At Rackspace, we believe that Service is our key strategic differentiator and reason customers will continue to trust their business to Rackspace. While more than ever technology is playing a key role in RAX capabilities (OpenStack, Public/Private Cloud, RackConnect, etc)...we’ll continue to rely on service as our primary differentiator. Rackspace Vision Since 2005 To be recognized as one of the world’s great service companies. 15

17 What We Sell Great.. Buuut... What IS “the cloud”? 18

18 The Cloud = What IS “The Cloud”?
Cloud systems are virtualized computing systems and services that take advantage of economies of scale by turning computing into a commodity or “utility service”, like power or Internet service. You no longer need dedicated hardware infrastructure like servers, hard drives and network devices for all your computational resource needs. The Cloud = virtual machines VM ∙ “hypervisor” 19

28 General Technology Categories
+ One Box, One Customer + Dedicated I/O & network resources - More expensive (>$599/mo) - Not all cloud services work with - Slower provisioning times* Good for dedicated, large-fast Databases, sensitive backups, DIY storage systems. * - Dedicated on “OnMetal” cloud API provisioned systems are much faster than traditional dedicated systems. 29

VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ VM ∙ + Less expensive (>$50/month) + Cloud/dedicated services can connect + Near instant provisioning - Many customers on VMs across many (shared) physical hosts - Shared resource pools of I/O, storage & network. Low cost, fast scaling, API-automatable. Not as secure. 30

Great for security or resource sensitive apps. 31
