2 Verb conjugation: refers to how a verb changes to show a different person, tense, number or mood.
Person (also known as Subject): In English, we have six different persons: first person singular (I), second person singular (you), third person singular (he/she/it/one), first person plural (we), second person plural (you), and third person plural (they). The subject pronouns of he, she, it, we, they are sometimes replaced with names of the persons/subject. For example, instead of he we might use Kevin or we can be replace Sharon and I.

5 Practice section B: Complete the sentences with its conjugated form of to be.

6 Tense: Verbs are also conjugated according to their tenses (when it happens).  Verb tense indicates when the action in a sentence is happening (e.g., in the present, future, or past). Regular verbs follow a standard pattern when conjugated according to tense. Look at to live & to work below: Subject Verb I Live We You He/She/It Lives They Subject Verb I Work We You He/She/It Works They

Annie and her brothers (is, are) at school. Either my mother or my father (is, are) coming to the meeting. The dog or the cats (is, are) outside. Either my shoes or your coat (is, are) always on the floor. George and Tamara (doesn't, don't) want to see that movie. Benito (doesn't, don't) know the answer. One of my sisters (is, are) going on a trip to France. The man with all the birds (live, lives) on my street. The movie, including all the previews, (take, takes) about two hours to watch. The players, as well as the captain, (want, wants) to win. Either answer (is, are) acceptable. Every one of those books (is, are) fiction.

9 Sentence structure: We have to have a subject/person and a conjugated verb that agree in each and every sentence. For example, in the sentence “We sometimes read books.” we = subject and read = verb.
