7 Acceptable Use Policy Highlights: Privilege, not a right
Do not share passwords or attempt to learn another user’s password, access another user’s account or impersonate another user on the network. Refrain from harassment, threats, obscene language, etc. Properly use and care for all devices and hardware Users responsible for all material in his/her network account (undesirable or inappropriate materials). Report any misuse to a teacher.

8 Student Consequences for School Device or BYOT Surrender device for the rest of the day Assignment without technology Repeated misuse (3 times) will result in removal of device and parental contact Students who are found with another student’s device, even with permission, will have the device removed. Students who take another student’s device will be removed from class for the remainder of the day. Parents will be contacted.

10 Talk to your kids about internet safety.
Know which devices in your home have internet access. Use parental controls on all mobile devices. Location of computer/device. Get to know your child’s online buddies. Check the websites and services your child uses.

12 D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education)
Taught every other week by Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputy First Class Adam Furusho. The D.A.R.E. curriculum is designed to equip early adolescent students with the skills to resist substance abuse and violence. D.A.R.E. Essay D.A.R.E. Graduation

13 FLE (Family Life Education)
There have been no additions to the FLE curriculum for Grade level curriculum documents will be available in school libraries and at the parent preview. New this year, opt-out forms will be shared electronically with parents. Parents only need to respond if they DO NOT want their child to participate in the FLE instructional unit. SOLs by grade level (on the opt-out links) can be found on the FLE web page. If you decide to opt your child out, we encourage parents to print the forms at home and return them to their elementary classroom teacher or secondary Health and PE teacher.

14 Field Trips A separate permission slip will be needed for each one.
