2 What did the Author say about jellyfish?
Literal Questions What did the Author say about jellyfish? Jellyfish go up or they go down. Jellies do have a brain. Sea turtles, dolphins, and whale sharks would try to eat the Jellies. Tentacles are used to protect the Jellies. What do jellyfish use their tentacles for? They use their tentacles to sting for protection and to catch food. What do jellyfish look like? Jellyfish have tentacles, and are so simple that the look like plastic trash floating in the sea. Real jellyfish are shaped like bells, with at least one mouth and tentacles.

3 Interpretive Questions
What did the author mean when he said, “And, since you have a brain and a heart, you would know you were seeing something unforgettable?” What did the author mean when he said, “they are their own greenhouses and grocery stores all wrapped up in one?” Why did the author compare the arctic lion’s mane jellyfish to a blue whale?

4 Applied Questions How can we apply knowledge of jellyfish to our lives? Would you rather write about jellyfish or take pictures of them? Would you want to have a jellyfish as a pet? Why or why not?
