1 Neutralization Reactions using Titration Method
What is a titration? What’s the point?

2 What is a Titration? laboratory method of quantitative analysis used to determine unknown concentration of known substance

3 Titration Key Ideas You can determine the concentration of acid or base in a solution by performing a analytical, quantitative procedure. Chemists carry out this procedure by doing a titration. Titrations use an indicator as a visual aid in determining the end point of the neutralization reaction. Watch This! Phenolphthalein turns pink in bases (~ 8).

5 Graphical Representations
We can graphically represent titrations, end points [pH=7], and equivalence points [H+] = [OH-].

6 Titration Math Problem
A student neutralizes a 15 mL sample of vinegar (acetic acid) with mL of a .4 M NaOH solution. What is the molarity of the vinegar?
