3 Advanced Theatre – What to Expect 1st Semester…
Journals – Randomly assigned as a beginning reflection; Assigned after each performance event. Friday, Sept. 29th Disney Performing Arts Workshops (more info to follow) October 2nd -6th parent conference week Wednesday, November 1st – no school Friday, November 10th – no school Nov – Thanksgiving break Monday, November 27th Set building/prop making/painting 3:30-7pm MPR Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 29th and 30th – alternate set building as needed 5:30-7:00pm Saturday, Dec. 2nd – final set building 12:30pm-5pm Tuesday, Dec. 5th Full Dress and Tech Rehearsal 2nd period (8:30 am call) Wednesday, Dec. 6th full dress and tech rehearsals 3rd period (10:52 am call) Thurs. Dec. 7th 6:30-9pm Period 2 evening performance (6pm call) (daytime performance during class) Friday, Dec. 8th 6:30-9pm Period 3 evening performance (6pm call) (daytime performance during class)

4 What else is going on? Date TBD - Middle School Monologue Competition (tentatively hosted at Warm Springs or Thompson Middle School) (after school event) Wednesday, March 20th and Thursday, March 21st DMMS mini Shakespeare Competition during class – to determine groups moving on to festival – as needed Thursday, April 19th DMMS Annual Shakespeare Night – “An Evening with the Bard” 6:30-9pm MPR We will be selling advanced tickets again this year and seeking reservations for themed table sponsorships!!! Saturday, April 21st Jr. High/Varsity Shakespeare Festival (8th grade and high school participation only) location yet to be determined – optional participation Saturday, April 28th Middle School Shakespeare Festival – location TBD – We will participate  Friday, June 1st 6:30-9pm pm Adv. Theatre Arts “Student Showcase” Extra credit – Seeing a live theatre performance during the semester is a great way to support other theatre programs and earn extra credit. I will keep you posted on extra credit live theatre opportunities in the area as I am made aware of them. 5pts for each performance attended. Participation in other fundraising activities as they arise throughout the year. Please…check the webpage regularly for updated information and reminders

5 Volunteer Sign-Ups Volunteer Coordinator (Oversees the putting together of volunteers for various events - includes coordinating ticket sales and concession table volunteers for events) Fundraising Organizer Costume/props Coordinator Building/painting sets (moveable flats/backdrops, etc.) Transporting set pieces to school and back again Shakespeare Night Coordinator Disneyland/Shakespeare Festival Chaperones VR Cast Party and End of year theatre party coordinator Videographer/photographer Stage helpers (Supervising/assisting actors during performances) If you can help in any of these roles, please sign up tonight or me of your interest!  Thank you, in advance!
