1 Does God care what you wear?

2 God is utterly disinterested in the “fanciness” of your clothing
God is utterly disinterested in the “fanciness” of your clothing. straw man 2. God is interested in modesty 3. God is interested in the message of your clothing - the Gender clarity message it sends - the Sensual message it may send - the attitude message it sends - the respect for His design of the body

3 A message is conveyed by clothing, whether intended or not.
FACT: A message is conveyed by clothing, whether intended or not.

4 I. ORIGINALLY NAKEDNESS WAS INNOCENT
Ge 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. God’s perfect plan for us did not originally include clothing.

5 II. COVERING NAKEDNESS (CLOTHING) WAS GOD’S IDEA
After the fall, however, God was so concerned that the man and woman be properly clothed, that He personally made them garments. Ge 3:21 ¶ Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

6 Le 18:6 None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.

7 III. NAKEDNESS TRIGGERS FALLEN RESPONSES & THOUGHTS OF SEXUAL SIN
THE EXAMPLE OF DAVID 2Sa 11:2 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

8 NAKEDNESS IS ASSOCIATED WITH JUDGEMENT
Na 3:5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.

9 V. NAKEDNESS ASSOCIATED WITH SHAME
Ge 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

10 Isa 20:4 So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt. Re 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

11 VI. EXTREME BACKSLIDING AND IDOLATRY ARE ASSOCIATED WITH NAKEDNESS
Ex 32:25 And when Moses SAW that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:) Isn’t it revealing that the first time this typically redeemed people backslid, they took off their clothes!

12 How do I know when I am Biblically covered?

VII. THE SECRET PARTS SHOULD BE COVERED Called secret parts because they are to be kept in secret. They are the parts that are used in reproduction, elimination, sexuality and lactation.

17 VIII. IN GOD’S SIGHT MAKING BARE THE LEG AND UNCOVERING THE THIGH WAS A SHAME!
Isa. 47:1 ¶ Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: ... for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. 2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen:

18 THIGH yarek yaw-rake' meaning TO BE SOFT; thigh, side, loin, base, including the loins/pelvic (reproductive parts) The Hebrew word for thigh is taken from a word that meant soft. Thus the thigh is the softer part of the upper leg, as opposed to the bonier area around the knee.

19 Ex 28: 42 And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the THIGHS they shall reach: 43 And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy [place]; that they bear not iniquity, and DIE: ...

20 WEAR THEM WHERE? Ex 28:43 And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle

21 NO STEPS ON THE ALTAR Ex 20:26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

22 BIBLE KNOWLEDGE COMMENTARY
“The altar was to unadorned by craftsmanship; it was to be of earth, (I.e. of natural stones; cf Deut. 27:5-7), and without steps so the priests would not be indecently exposed...Elevated platforms with staircases were common in the worship of false deities.”

25 X. SINFUL MAN’S FIRST RESPONSE TO NAKEDNESS WAS TO INSUFFICIENTLY CLOTHE
Ge 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. If you’re naked, you need more than an apron!

26 XI. THE ONLY COVERING/CLOTHING EVER DESIGNED BY GOD HIMSELF WAS A COAT.
Ge 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make COATS of skins, and clothed them.

27 Do you think there was any possibility that Adam and Eve were immodest wearing God’s coat?

28 COAT keth-o'- neth meaning TO COVER 1) tunic, under-garment 1a) a long shirt-like garment usually of linen Tunic – (Funk & Wagnalls) a garment with or without sleeves, reaching to the knees and usually worn without a belt.

31 ASSOCIATED WITH WHOREDOM
Eze 16:36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ...thy (was) nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, ...

32 Le 20:17 And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; IT [IS] A WICKED THING; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
