8 DANGER AHEAD What you post can impact your chances of gaining successful employment. What you like, share or comment on is tracked and becomes public record. Posting pictures with or about past employers, drugs, violence, and gang affiliation could cost you employment even after you have been hired.

9 Interview Don’ts Don’t speak poorly of past employers.
Don’t speak too fast or too loudly. Don’t try to be funny, Just be YOURSELF! Don’t chew gum or eat candy . Don’t forget to turn your phone off or down. Don’t bring your friends along. Don’t use slang or speak in hashtags (e.g.,“ Sauce”, “Savage” “Beast Mode”, “Goals”, “Facts”, “Fleek”, Squad”, “Bye Felicia”

“Tell me about yourself.” (The interviewer is looking for communication skills and clear thinking about your recent history, not your childhood). “Why should we hire you?” (Interactive Activity) “What is your biggest strength?” (Know your top 2 or 3 strengths and be prepared to discuss each with an example). “How do you handle stress on the job?” (Provide a good example of how you have dealt with stress in the past. It’s possible that stress can actually help some people perform better!) No experience?! Be creative! Use school projects, extra-curricular activities (sports, clubs) or even hobbies as examples of: • Teamwork • Organization • Problem Solving
