Haeger VS PEM

Haeger 516 vs PEM Series 4 Fully Hydraulic – consistent force independent on air pressure fluctuations Press in up to M8 nuts and M6 studs independent of available air pressure (PS 4 needs 8.6 bar air pressure to press in M8 nuts and M6 studs) Tooling lengths independent! able to build up pressure in every point of stroke Safety system effective in every point of stroke and NO setup stroke required Repeatability of force within 1% - independent of air pressure fluctuations Smallest force is 220lbs (within 2% consistent!) Very minor energy consumption (see haeger.com for energy consumption of air pressure machines) Possible to do BTM joining! Possible to do riveting Stand with storage cabinet Double Foot pedal! You can stop the ram at any point in stroke (on PS4 after tipping the single pedal the machine always finishes the stroke completely – difficult when pressing in in bended/formed parts) Integrated storage for all manual tooling and J Frame on left hand side of machine Single phase power – no large compressor required

618MSPe vs PEM Series 4 Fully Hydraulic – consistent force independent on air pressure fluctuations Press in up to M10 nuts and M8 studs independent of available air pressure (PS 4 needs 8.6 bar air pressure to press in M8 nuts and M6 studs) Adjustable Dwell Timer for Stainless Steel applications!! Tooling lengths independent! able to build up pressure in every point of stroke (Adaptable J-Frame standard!) Safety system effective in every point of stroke and NO setup stroke required Possible to add MAS in future to do bottom AND top feeding Repeatability of force within 2% - independent of air pressure fluctuations Smallest force is 220 (within 2% consistent!) Optional Positive Stop for most precision insertion in thin Aluminium and for Clinching applications Very minor energy consumption (Up to $2000 per year savings over pneumatic machine in 1 shift operation) Possible to do BTM joining Possible to do riveting Double Foot pedal! You can stop the ram at any point in stroke. (on PS4 after tipping the single pedal the machine always finishes the stroke completely – difficult when pressing in in bended/formed parts) Standard Tooling Protection System option Standard Batch Counter option Adaptable to any special tooling solution

Unlimited program storage. 4 station Auto tooling Full quality control -Fastener Detection, Fastener Length, & Insertion Graphics Double Foot pedal! You can stop the ram at any point in stroke . (on PS4 after tipping the single pedal the machine always finishes the stroke completely – difficult when pressing in in bended/formed parts) Integrated storage for auto and manual tooling Very low maintenance and excellent reliability Reduced energy consumption with a Variable frequency drive

Key Points PEM 3000 PC based windows operating platforms. Similar capability to Haeger’s control 4-station servo-driven QX lower tool holder system, all tools present from Step to step (similar to the Haeger TIS turret system) Limited Part clearance Lower tools rotate on a solid round disc which can hamper part accessibility Possibly causing multiple part handling Single Auto-feed system is optional and mounted on machine. Additional Auto-feed systems are mounted on mobile carts (20”W x 31”L) taking up much needed space and cumbersome tooling set-up LIGHTSTREAM safety system must be set-up per job and steps whether auto-feeding or manual tooling applications. No safety system unless it is set-up (Sets up like the Haeger TPS (tool protection system) Longer auto-feed tooling set-ups and not as reliable and flexible as Haeger tooling. Limited special Auto-feed tooling availability Ram is set back further than Haeger and PEM operators complain about the controls being right in their faces Decreased life span on servo driven Ram Auto feed tooling difficult to set up

Key Points PEM 2000 PLC touch-screen control, with batch counter and single station lower tool holder. Max 300 program storage. ( operators complain programming is to difficult and too many screens. ) Optional single Auto-feed system and optional manual 4-station lower tool turret. (Fingers cannot be removed for greater accessibility on complex parts) Ram force: hydra-pneumatic (air-over-oil) can be a maintenance nightmare. Single Auto-feed system is optional and mounted on machine. Additional Auto-feed systems are mounted on mobile carts (20”W x 31”L) taking up much needed space and cumbersome tooling set-up. LIGHTSTREAM safety system must be set-up per job and steps whether auto-feeding or manual tooling applications. No safety system unless it is set-up. (Sets up like the Haeger TPS (tool protection system) Longer auto-feed tooling set-ups and not as reliable and flexible as Haeger tooling. Limited special Auto-feed tooling availability. Auto feed tooling difficult to set up

Key Points PEM Series 4 Control system: Pneumatic and PLC logic. (Touch-screen) ( operators complain programming is to difficult and too many screens. ) Pressure system: Pneumatic / lever controlled (no air-over oil) high maintenance on cylinder Single station lower tool holder. Optional 4-station manual tool holder. Optical Sensor Indicator (OSI) visual aid for setting the safety system. Safety is set manually, leaving room for accidents if safety is not used. (Unlike Haeger safety system.) Adjustable positive-stop ram system (set manually)
