With some differences:
Santa doesn’t come through the chimney
Gifts are open already on X-Mas Eve,
Dec 24th,also called GENEROUS EVENING
(this tradition that is in Slovakia is also
in Austria, Germany, Latvia, Spain, Sweden etc.)

5. Dec 24th – Traditional Dinner: Fish (Carp)
People stay up all evening,
usually up till Midnight.

6. Halloween = All Souls Day in Slovakia
In Slovakia, when in the USA is Halloween - they celebrate the All Souls Day, when people visit cemeteries, burn candles and decorate their graveyards…

7. NO SCARY DECORATIONS  Nov 2nd – All Souls Day
On All Soul's Day, candles in the window would guide the souls of friends and loved ones who have passed away back home.

Instead lots of flowers and candles to create an atmosphere to feel invited and welcome…

10. Mountains in Slovakia – At the Cottages are bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining (they serve soups, warm meals, hot tea…)

11. Kids can sleep at mountain cottages
Kids can sleep at mountain cottages. Babies are carried up in a backpack-like me when I was 1!
