Florence Knoll Bassett was born on May 24, She is an American architect and furniture designer .

22. Knoll also received a bachelor's degree in architecture from Armor Institute in Florence Knoll herself designed chairs, sofas, tables and case goods during the 1950s. As an architect, Knoll's most famous creations are the Connecticut General Life Insurance building in Bloomfield, Connecticut and the interior of the CBS Building in New York City. She worked in Knoll industry from 1938 to In 2002, she was awarded the National Medal of Arts.
