Assert public service and education goals Relate effort towards transparency and accountability Clearly stated: Who will the museum benefit? Why does the museum exist? Integrate museum operations to help meet mission. Actions of governing authority and staff should develop a strategic plan that will spell out specifically what steps will be taken to advance the mission. Mission statements should be used as a tool for evaluating museum performance.
