Supporting teachers in the development of innovative teaching practices and high quality learning materials. Fostering the sharing and collaboration among teachers, students and even autodidact learners. Allowing teachers students and autodidact learners wide access (WWW) to innovative teaching practices, high quality learning materials, learning analytics tools developed around the world. Encouraging the languages learning and intercultural understanding. Eliminating access barriers to foster social and business innovation and entrepreneurship with greater equity. Encouraging the development of computational thinking and programming skills. Encouraging the collaborative development of free open source software and open collaborative research.

E-textbooks offer the opportunity to enhance written text with hyperlinks (webpages, HTML) to additional resources, including: Other textbooks or webpages News Infographics Cartoons Animations Podcasts Audio Video Data sets Simulations The goal of e-textbooks is to create a truly dynamic, interactive learning experience, in which students and teachers can simultaneously immerse themselves in the learning experience.

Definitions WWW: World Wide Web. HTML: HyperText Markup Language
HTML is a text formatting language. URL: Uniform Resource Locator The way in which Web Pages and other resources are located in the World Wide Web. Browser: A software program which is used to show (render) web pages.
