4 Illustrator – the person who drew or created the pictures or illustrations

5 Publisher, Place of Publication, and Copyright date or Publication Date
Publisher - the company that produces, prints and distributes the book Place of Publication (City, State, Country) New York, NY Los Angeles, CA London, England Examples: Random House, Inc. Scholastic, Inc. Simon & Schuster Harper Collins Publishers Capstone Press Copyright date, or date of Publication 2006 2009 2015

6 Title Page – usually tells the title, author, illustrator, and the publisher

7 Verso – the back of the title page
Verso – gives publication information such as the copyright date, publisher, and place of publication

8 Table of Contents The table of contents lists the major parts of the book, like units and chapters . It is found in the front of the book. It gives the page number where each unit or chapter begins. Table of Contents Introduction: Why I Wrote This Book - 1 Chapter One: Picking the Right Dog - 4 Chapter Two: Training Your Puppy - 13 Chapter Three: Enjoying Your Adult Dog - 25 Chapter Four: The Older Years - 36 Chapter Five: Letting Go - 48

9 Glossary A glossary is a list of important words from the book and their meanings. You will find the glossary in the back of the book. C COLONY - A community of tens of thousands of worker bees, usually containing one queen, with or without drones. COMB HONEY - Honey presented in its original wax comb. CRYSTALLIZATION - Honey is a supersaturated solution. Crystals will develop in honey when glucose crystallizes out of solution. D DRONE - A male bee. E EXTRACTED HONEY - Honey removed from the comb by a special machine called an extractor and sold in liquid or crystallized form.

10 Index The index is a list of all topics found in the book and the page numbers where they are discussed. The list is in alphabetical order and is found in the back of the book. 11 Footnotes Footnote – found at the bottom of a book page
explains which information source the author used. Footnotes can also be used to expand on information in the paragraph. The footnote number appears in the text of a report. Then, the footnote number appears at the bottom of the page with the source information.
