3. Family Networks started this work of supporting families in having a vision for their child’s future prior to becoming familiar with LifeCourse.
LifeCourse has given us common language to use when talking about the work that we do.

Our goal:
Support families so that they can support their children
Help families have high expectations for their own lives, and the lives of their children, where disability doesn’t define them and they believe they are valuable community members
Support local communities to understand their role in creating welcoming communities where all people (disability label or not) are supported to belong and engage within community.
Develop a logic model and scopes of work
The Oregon Developmental Disabilities council provides guidance and support to the Oregon Consortium of Family Networks
Regular meetings as a group to help each other learn and grow

5. HOW ARE YOU ROLLING IT OUT? WHAT DID YOU ACTUALLY DO?
Pilot project in four communities and released an Request for Proposal
We were able to show outcomes that families felt supported and had higher expectations for their children as a result of participation in the Family Network
Families who were engaged with a Family Network for at least six months were even more likely to have a vision for a good life for their child
Legislature doubled our funding and asked OCFN to double our reach
We now cover 75% of Oregon
Current outcome indicate greater capacity in local communities to support and engage families experiencing disability

The LifeCourse tools have allowed me to visually share with families the conversations that we have already begun having with them
The use of the Integrated Star has helped families identify the multiple supports needed to help support the good life

The shared tools and language will be beneficial to OCFN in that we will be able to better identify common and shared outcomes across the state
